Part I of Democracy Rocks! Barre City Mayoral Candidate Lucas Herring

Lucas Herring, a Vermont native, is speaking on his Candidacy for Mayor. He has served as Ward 3 Councilor for the past seven years, forming the IT Committee and serving as representative to the Recreation Committee. Lucas has also served for seven years on Barre School Boards and taught computer courses in the Adult Basic Ed program. He has served on the Board for the Barre Partnership, Vermont School Boards Association, Vermont Granite Museum, and VSEA.

 

Lucas has been employed with the State of Vermont since 2000 and is currently an IT Director in the Agency of Digital Services working with the Department of Corrections. He holds a Master's Degree in Business Management with a concentration in Performance Management. He has volunteered and/or fund raised with the Barre Heritage Festival, Sons of the American Legion, American Red Cross, Green-Up Vermont, March of Dimes, Relay for Life, Penguin Plunge, Freezing Fun For Families, the Everybody Wins! Reading Program, and coached for BYSA Football. Lucas received the Sons of the American Legion Member of the Year Award in 2015 and Community Service Recognition Award from the Barre Joint Service Club in 2016.
