Anything for Speed: Auto Racing in Vermont!

It is a racecar themed month at Barre Rotary. Following on the heels of a presentationon July 11th by the youngest professional race car driver in Vermont, we welcome Amanda Gustin, Program Manager at the Vermont History Center to introduce the History Center's latest exhibit - Anything for Speed: Auto Racing in Vermont.

Vermonters have been racing cars for over a century, on mountainsides and drag strips, fairgrounds and dedicated tracks. The Vermont Historical Society’s newest exhibition explores that history of racing in the Green Mountains. It’s a story full of colorful personalities, innovative design, and tight-knit communities that takes place in every corner of the state.

We are excited to hear about the history of racing in Vermont, given Barre's proud position as home of Thunder Road International Speedway.   Join us!
