Visit Barre and stroll through downtown admiring the 2023 BARRE ART SPLASH.  And why not make it extra fun for the family? Before you go, click here to download and print out the scavenger hunt form from the main menu on this site.  Take it along and try to find the answers to the given clues.
Do a little math, counting butterflies on Pooh Bear,    ladybugs on frogs   or adding up numbers on the race cars.   Learn a little about the Barre Granite Industry when you find “Hope the Pig”   and do you know why one bear is named “Ursa Lax”?    Find the only cat on display and then cool off a bit counting snowballs on “Ski VT” in the summer sun.  All of the race cars are decorated by graphic artists and signed by their drivers and artists!  With 40 statues on display on Main Street you and your “team” are in for a fun time!
Some of the answers will be the names of the statues, while others will be about a specific detail on the given statue. Pay attention and be observant!  Once you’ve completed the scavenger hunt, bring your scavenger hunt sheets to Simply Subs for free ice cream sandwiches for everyone on the hunt with you.  Many thanks to MacAuley’s Foodservice for donating the ice cream sandwiches, to Simply Subs for handing them out, Stefanie Kingzet and Tracie Lewis of The Barre Partnership for creating the questions and the form!
Which is your favorite? Visit Boisvert Shoes, Nelson Ace Hardware, Posh Salon, Richard J. Wobby Jewelers, Barre Paint & Wallpaper or Lenny’s Shoe and Apparel to pick up a ballet to cast your vote for “The People’s Choice Awards”.  Cast a vote for your favorite art item.  The Barre Rotary Club is proud to share beautiful sunshine & beautiful art items on display on Main Street in Barre! Enjoy the BARRE ART SPLASH 2023 running now through September 5th.
Bid on your favorite art item at the auction and gala on Sept. 16th at the Vermont Granite Museum !
