Barre Rotary Club – 2019 Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA)

The Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) is a leadership training program for students completing their sophomore year in high school.  Students are selected to attend a weekend seminar that is focused on developing leadership and communication skills, professional responsibility and ethics, and team building skills.  This year’s program was held June 24th-26th, 2019 at Lyndon State College.  Spaulding High School had Mathew Durgin in attendance.   He was sponsored by the Barre Rotary Club.

It is an opportunity to meet other young people in VT, NH and Quebec, increase self confidence, and gain exposure to a variety of topics and viewpoints.  A RYLA experience prepares students to be leaders in their schools, teams, communities, and other facets of everyday life.
