Happy and Sad: Round I

While sixteen Rotarians were lunching and engaging in civilized conversation, Tony rose to give a Happy Dollar still oozing happiness from visiting his one year old grandniece who thinks he’s funny and his piano teacher who didn’t know him. Liane gave a Sad Dollar lamenting the fact that her son took off for Austin, Texas and for a series of mishaps befallen him there, including dropping and breaking his phone and going over the handle bars of a motor scooter and breaking his clavicle. Then she gave a Happy Dollar because he has an interview with the Vermont State Police for an internship and a possible future career. George gave a Sad Dollar for tripping when entering the building today. He gave a Happy Dollar for being a proud father of Jamie who will be District Governor 2020-2019 and another in celebration of his great-grandson’s third birthday. Tom gave a Happy Dollar because he forgot his golf shoes, but remembered his clubs in a recent golf outing with Karl.

Happy and Sad: Round II
Eddie gave a Happy Dollar for surprise his daughter experienced when he and Sandy gave her a car. He followed up with a Sad Dollar that neither of the people who Tony visited, a one year old and a ninety-three will remember his visit. Loren gave a five Happy Dollars because she remembered to wear her badge; the change in Aldrich hours; and the happiness she enjoyed seeing her daughter and her friends attending their prom. As the meeting began, there was an encore of  Tony’s performance as he rose once again to offer a Happy Dollar for “quite an honor” that, as a deacon of the Barre Congressional Church, a woman wants Tony to be at the baptism of her child.

Until next....that's all folks.
