Stories
Presiding President Jack Barns started our meeting with a pledge and a prayer.

Bop Pope started the fines off with a fine on Karl for one and nine for the second week in a row for not parking in a city metered zone and feeding money to the city. Bob did mention that both he and Karl parked in front of the old railroad depot that was recently Simply Delicious which has now moved into the Blanchard block. Karl did not offer any defense and the fine carried.

The rest of the meeting was relatively quite until Karl stood to make a motion that the club rent one box of our booth partitions for $500.00 and a delivery fee of $500.00 for an event at The BOR. Bob advised that he would see that the partitions are delivered to the BOR for the customer and donate the delivery fee to the club.  The motion carried.

Karl also announced that there would be a fireside chat for the new members immediately following the regular meeting until 2 PM in the same room.

Karl then introduced Past District Governor and current District 7850 Foundation Chair Marilyn Bedell to the club.

2011/2012 District Governor Marilyn Bedell joined the Rotary Club of Lebanon-Riverside in 1994, Marilyn served as the Centennial President for her Club in 2004-2005, and as Assistant Governor from 2006-2009.  She has served a variety of other positions at the Club level, and was District chair of RYLA from 2006 to 2009.  Marilyn’s Rotary Classification is Nursing Administration.  She has enjoyed a 44 year nursing career most of it in oncology at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

Currently Marilyn serves as our District’s Rotary Foundation Chair; and as an Assistant Rotary Coordinator for Rotary International.

Marilyn is an avid supporter of the Rotary Foundation.  She is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, a member of the Paul Harris Society and the Arch Klump Society.  In addition she is a Bequest Society member of The Rotary Foundation.

Marilyn gave a wonderful talk about stamping out polio, giving to the Rotary Foundation and how to become a Paul Harris Fellow. She noted that many Rotarians in our club have accumulated Paul Harris points that when combined with another donation for a total of 1000 can be used for another Paul Harris Fellow. She said that you can review your history on the RI web site.

Jack closed the meeting with Marilyn picking  the winning ticket. Liane Martinelli was the winner.
