Drop n' Swap

Hello Hello!

As I sit at soccer practice looking at my notes, they're pretty light so this chips might not be full of detail this week :)

Last week we were joined by Christina Morris our guest speaker. She owns Breath & Bone Reiki and Rooted Yoga in Barre and was also our guest speaker.

To start the meeting Eddie gave a happy dollar sharing a story about a opossum on his back porch, who appeared to want to get into his compost bucket.

Tony shared that Nancy Zorn, Arthur's wife is back in the hospital. We send them both all of our good vibes during this difficult time.

Tony then followed up with a happy dollar for getting to spend the day up at Jay Peak where he enjoyed the water park and the rest of his family enjoyed the skiing.

After hearing Tony's story Bob followed up with a dollar and a brief story about when he broke his neck. For which he just had surgery for many years later to fuse two of his vertebrae.

Doug gave himself a fine for wearing his hat at the meeting. He's going through chemo and commented that it felt like the top of his head was on fire. Good vibes and healing thoughts for Doug as well as he goes through treatments.

Jim did his secretary's report from memory as he forgot his phone at home for the first time in several years. He invited Bob or anyone else to fact check his “on this day” trivia.

As always Eddie needs volunteers for the BOR concession stand. Sign up HERE if you can help.

From here we got into Christina's talk about Reiki and 5NP auricular, ear point, acupuncture. She shared the story of how she started on this journey to become a reiki master in the Japanese style of Usui Shiki Ryoho. She found herself very sick in her early 20's and while all her doctors couldn't find anything “wrong”. Christina ended up seeing a intuitive doctor who told her almost instantly that she had gallstones. While at the time she brushed that diagnosis off, not long after she went to reiki and during that she was told the reiki master could see stones. After that Christina requested an ultrasound for gallstones from her Dr who refused because there were no indications that that was the problem. Taking things into her own hands Christina opted to do a gallbladder flush where she passed thousands of gallstones. From this moment she was hooked and dove into her reiki practice which she opened to the public in 2023.

Christina then started to share about 5NP (auricular) ear point acupuncture and the many benefits of it. When it was first being practiced there was a lot of benefit for those with drug addictions and it helped them through that, and as it was practiced more there were other benefits seen as well including helping with insomnia, stress and anxiety among other things.

Towards the end of her talk Bob asked about how a reiki appointment goes so she asked Bob to come up for a demonstration. He obliged and got up on one of the library's tables and Christina proceeded to go through how an appointment would go. Since Bob shared about his neck injury and recent surgery, he was asked about which side it was on as Christina, as the practitioner, had a sense of where the pain has been predominantly.

As we were running late those that wanted to have a seed sticker placed on their ear, rather than needles, were welcome to stay a little after and Christina placed a few radish seeds on those that wanted them.

Our Next meeting is on April 1st where we'll be taking a field trip to AR Market and Pearl Street Pizza.

Hope to see you there!
