A Musical Prologue
After the Pledge of Allegiance, Art Zorn led us in song, first with My Country ‘Tis of Thee and then the official song of Vermont, These Green Mountains.

Happy and Sad Dollars
DG Caroline was first up with Happy Dollars for our speaker being here and another for providing two gift cards form Espresso Bueno and one for Delicate Decadence for the silent action at Pie for Brunch. She added another dollar for polio. She also gave a Sad Dollar in memory of her father-in-law who died on Friday.
Keith added to the coffers with a “double,” as he put it, for his daughter who is going to pursue a double major, created by her, in Judaic Studies/History.
Art Zorn threw in the basket a Happy Dollar because his son Zach, a blessing to him and his wife, is celebrating his birthday.
Joe gave Happy Dollars for: the sculptures for the Barre Art Splash, remarking how wonderful they are; having a great time at a breakfast with his sisters and their significant others. He added a Sad Dollar because he lost his wallet.
Karl rose to give a Happy Dollar for the completion of 21 sculptures for the Barre Art Splash.
Reminders and Announcement
Eddie reported we have enough syrup for the breakfast and that Bob Woodard will be helping in the kitchen at Pie for Brunch.
President Nicole showed us the poster that she designed for Pie for Brunch and asked Rotarians to post them at locations in Barre. She also reported we have awarded fifteen Community Grants and the recipients are thrilled and will send a representative to receive their grant.
From the Board of Directors meeting earlier she reported that progress on the bylaws is going well. Also, we will need to replace some of the trustees of the Barre Club Foundation.
Social Media Training
DG Caroline introduced media consultant Courtney Key Jarecki. She will be providing a hands-on workshop for us to learn the "ins and outs" of using Facebook as a club for event and organizational promotion using our website. This is possible because we received a social media grant from our district.
She started by explaining her style; casual, answering questions and helping participants one-on-one. She asked what the main purpose of having a website is and the response was to increase membership. She responded that in order to help achieve this goal one must interact vigorously with followers and postings in general. She began answering individual questions and helping Rotarians who were using their devices that they had brought with them. Rotarians were pleased with the help that they received from Courtney and showed their appreciation with a warm round of applause.
Until next time, that's all folks......
