Happy Dollars and a Video
As 14 Rotarians were beginning their lunch, Caroline was first to be recognized by President Tony. She gave two Happy Dollars for the support she received from our Club to follow the leadership tract for District Governor. Nicole was next with five Happy Dollars: District Changeover Event; her brother visiting her for the first time in ten years; the flower arrangements that she had recently secured; and free time to work on Rotary matters. She presented a draft of a yearly calendar of Rotary events and other significant occurrences during the year. After the final draft calendar has been completed, it will be sent to members electronically.
President Tony presented a video from the 10th Barre Rotary Club Annual Breakfast which occurred in 1993. We got to see many of the current and deceased members cooking and serving at the Breakfast.

Retrospective/Prospective
President Tony took to the floor to talk briefly about his year in office. He said he was proud of our Club for all that we do and how much fun we have. It was a learning year for him and he pointed out a special moment when he and Bruce planted trees with Interact members. He told of Tom Babic’s advice to make the Club fun and of Joe Shadroui’s comment of “why is everyone picking on me.” He thinks and we agreed that he made meetings normal after Zoom! As for the future, he would like to be involved with the Rotary Foundation again. At the conclusion of his remarks, he received a standing ovation. Nice work Tony!
Nicole was next and provided us with a preview of her term as President. She spoke of her style and her passions and she reminded us of the role women have played in our Club and strongly believes in inclusion. In an answer to a question about membership, she invited members to join her and Tony to explore best practices for recruitment from the district and beyond and consider a satellite club. In response to a question about a fundraiser, she suggested a pie event similar to the one that the Northfield Rotary Club had a few years ago. Other ideas will be explored in the coming weeks and months. She also pointed out that we need to continue to support District Governor Caroline and, specifically, help her with her District Conference. DG Caroline Earle then announced that it will most likely be on April 28-30, 2023 at Jay Peak.
George Beefs Up the Coffers
George was recognized and gave $20 for his phone ringing, Nicole’s upcoming Presidency and Caroline’s term as District Governor. Rousse Reports
Eddie gave a brief update on the Breakfast and reported that had met with Claire who had given him 28 suggestions. He brought the “Big Book” to show us that it did indeed exist. (See in the photo.) He also reported that he had secured a tent for $1800 and renewed his request for members to ask for maple syrup donations.
