Fine and Dollars Drought Returns
With rituals completed, eighteen Rotarians sat down to a lunch of roast pork, carrots, potatoes, salad and cookies. Liane started the meeting by reading thank you notes from Gretchen Elias, Executive Director of Good Beginnings and the Barre Opera House. Karl then went through a container of Rotary material from Claire Duke soliciting advice from members as to whether or not to keep the item or scan it into the documents section of our website. Liane, while proudly holding a banner, read portions of a letter from the Rotary Foundation recognizing our support of the Annual Fund as one or more of the following: “One of only 1,575 clubs to achieve “Top Three Highest in Per Capita Annual Giving honors in their district; one of only 3,425 clubs worldwide to attain status as an “Every Rotarian Every Year Club;” one of only 4,000 clubs worldwide to become a “100% Foundation Giving Club.”
Progress Continues on Tanzania Project
Liane introduced Nicole Didomenico from the Northfield Rotary Club. She gave an update on the Pommerin, Tanzania Project to which we have made a contribution. Since 2011 Nicole reported that they have raised $250,000 to build a residence for nineteen orphaned children, a barn and a craft workshop. Future projects include building a boy’s dorm and a facility which will produce sunflower oil.
Financial Figures
Caroline gave a report on the mural wall. To date $6100 as been raised, but an additional $1500-$2000 needs to be raised. Panels will be painted in January, February and March. She also reported the figures on the Annual Ball: Income-$7,158.00; Expenses-$3,850.58; Profit-$3,307.42. She also presented two options for allocation of funds which will be voted on at later date. The figures for the Annual Breakfast were as follows: Income-$22,546; Expenses-$7,308.77; Proceeds for the Library: $15, 237.23. When $360 is collected by Bob Pope, the proceeds will be $15,597.23.

History Making Moment: NO FINES OR DOLLARS IN THE FIRST 59 MINUTES!
Karl gave two Happy Dollars in welcoming the two members newly inducted and the winning recipient of the raffle was presented with the two dollars instead of the usual five because of the drought and the dereliction of duty by Tony Campos for not leading a robust fining frenzy at this historic meeting.
Until next time, that's all folks......
