Happy Monday, Rotarians! Another round of Granite Chips is here, let’s dive in.
We started with some updates, Eddie filled us in on the BOR concession stand, it's currently open for the Black Bear Friday Night Lights games. He's looking for volunteers to help for the season.
Nicole updated us on Tatum's Totes, the club donated $1,000 to have gifts bought for children in the foster care system. She will be purchasing gifts soon and we will be helping to package them at our December 3rd meeting after also hearing from Sarah Galbraith. If you're planning to attend our first December meeting it would great if you could also bring in 2 gift bags to put gifts in. Large or medium bags are preferred.
Tony updated everyone on the Rotary Breakfast as final numbers are in. We will be donating $15,000 to the library from the net profit. This is after we purchased a new grill to help with cooking this year. Great work everyone! We will be presenting the Aldrich with their check at a later date.
Guest past District Governor Kelly Drew joined us this week. She started by saying that all her duties weren't quite finished. She came to visit to present the Club Excellence Award to Barre Rotary. Past President Caroline facilitated this last year when as a club we came up with several goals we wanted to meet. We were able to meet enough of these and were awarded the Club Excellence Award.

Don't forget! This week we will be having our Rotary Magazine quiz. Be sure to read you RI magazine! This month's prize is a $50 gift cert to Sarducci's
Spreading Smiles One Dollar at a Time
Jan shared that she had a bear in her yard, tracks were left but it didn't bother the bird feeders. She's also happy because the Washington Fire Dept. is hosting it's first breakfast fundraiser this Saturday, serving breakfast sandwiches to those going out for opening day, or not and just want a good breakfast sandwich.
Kelly shared that there is an upcoming regional meeting in Lyndonville on Saturday Nov. 22d, if you haven't been to a training yet, this is a great one to go to. She also shared that there isn't an incoming District Governor for 28-29 yet, so if you or someone you know has interest in this position this is a great opportunity to step into a leadership role.
Caroline was happy that Kelly was able to join us and also for Tony being named in the Museum of Names blog.
Tony was happy to be connecting with SHS Interact students to help get them involved in some of our upcoming volunteer opportunities.
