After Action Report
Blessings and Happy Dollars

After the Pledge of Allegiance, Acting President Eddie asked if there were any gratitudes. DG Caroline rose to express blessings on our club, individuals and on  others to whom we have bestowed blessings. Bob Pope was next with a “jaw-dropping” fifty dollars for those who had the vision for projects while he maintains his “fuddy-duddy” attitude. He admires those such as President Nicole for her Pie for Brunch, Karl for the Barre Art Splash and DG Caroline for the Mural Project for “making it happen.” Joe followed up with a Happy Dollar referencing the “keep it short” adage; “Bob’s was long, but nice.” DG Caroline was back on her feet with two Happy Dollars for all those club members who have helped her prepare for the District Conference.

On this day in history: On this day in 1981, NASA launched the first space shuttle, Columbia, which was designed to orbit Earth, transport people and cargo to and from orbiting spacecraft and glide to a runway landing on its return to Earth.
On this day in history: In 1861, Fort Sumter, one of the few military installations in the South still in Federal hands, came under fire from Confederate guns in Charleston, South Carolina, thus initiating the  American Civil War.

Updates
Joe presented a report from Loren regarding the Dictionaries/Atlases Project. She has contacted all of the schools involved and heard back from all but one. She has numbers from the teachers. The teachers would like to receive them in April. Ted reminded us that the club has appropriated $1400 for the project.
DG Caroline reported that three candidates for RYLA have been identified. She and Joe will set up interviews with those candidates.
DG Caroline reported that things are set up and ready to go for the District Conference scheduled for April 28-30 at Jay Peak. There will be a variety of activities including skiing. Hope to see you there.

After Action Report
Yours truly conducted an After Action Report for the Pie for Brunch event. An AAR consists of three questions: 1) what went well; 2) what needs improvement; 3) what are some suggested changes for next year. Each set of questions is applied to various aspects of the event, such as advertising, space, food, information materials, etc. Because of time constraints, some topics received less attention. However, DG Caroline took superb notes and was able to organize them in an effective and useful way. President Nicole will review the findings and file them for reference next year.

Until next time, that's all folks......
