Rusty Pipes

After reciting the Pledge & Rotary’s Four Way Test, guest Art Zorn led our group of 15 in a rousing, if slightly rusty, A Capella version of My Country ‘Tis of Thee.  Suffice to say that Art’s presence has been missed.

Harmony Achieved

After an amicable fifteen minutes of fellowship & lunch, Barre Rotary got down to business.  President Caroline announced some follow-up ideas and action from the 02/26/25 Club Assembly.  New Lunch invite cards were created and a black & white version (color to follow) was passed around to all Rotarians.  Mentioned at our Club Assembly, this is a great way to invite a community member to lunch on us to get to know our Club and the benefits and bliss of membership.  Barre Rotary voted unanimously to assist Barre Town/Barre City with their annual Easter Egg Hunt/Fun Day taking place at the BOR on Sat. 04/19/25 from 9-11 am.  This idea was suggested by Emily at Club Assembly so it is wonderful to have such immediate follow-up!  Ed offered to open the Concession Stand, Nicole to donate an Easter Bunny suit, and others to volunteer.  Stay tuned for more details on how to join the fun!  Finally, happy dollars were offered by Dan, who celebrated his Clinic’s new Association with Gifford Hospital & the Green Mountain Film Festival starting March 14th (chaired by his bride Phayvanh!).

Genre Bending Chords

Rotarians were entranced by Laura Fried’s presentation about TURNmusic, a Waterbury non-profit that supports innovative, living music creators.  Laura used recorded excerpts of recent compositions and performances to share their mission of supporting the creation of new music that defies genres, staging opportunities for all creative & new voices to be heard.  This non-profit operates on a song ($46,000 in 2024!) but has a huge impact.  About — turnmusic  For Barre Rotarians, with their deep love of music, this is surely a match made in heaven!
