Adi Dobrilovic, father of Hana Dobrilovic winner of the 2025 speech contest with the 3 judges, Garret Grant, Joe Shadroui and Paul Haigh.

On 03/06/25, The Rotary Club of Barre held its annual Rotary Youth Speech Contest.  This District-wide contest invites high school students to prepare & deliver a five minute presentation addressing:  How can a Rotary-School partnership increase respect, tolerance & understanding of one another

Our winner, Spaulding High School Junior Hana Dobrilovic, gave a terrific presentation and scored high marks from our three judges.   Hana’s victory secures her a check for $200 from Barre Rotary, and she will go on to compete against winners of the other area Club contests at Round Two.

The Speech Contest has four rounds, the last of which will pit two finalists from Clubs in Quebec, New Hampshire & Vermont against one another for a top prize of $750!   The Contest not only introduces and reinforces Rotary values for students but also gives them the chance to practice speaking to groups, a skill that will come in handy as they navigate their future.  The Club is proud of its sponsorship of this youth activity and in its support for the leadership development of our local high school students.
