District Changeover
Over the weekend the District 7850 Changeover Event took place at Rotary Park in Barre on a cold and windy day in summer! Huddled in the newly painted shelter, Rotarians convened for the annual District Changeover Event which included a non-business meeting, reports, guest presentations, accolades, giving of gifts, a Polio Plus raffle, and remarks by outgoing District Governor Mike Carrier and incoming District Governor, our own Caroline Earle.
Caroline started by recognizing Mike’s accomplishments and giving him gifts reflective of his time of service as District Governor. She continued by thanking her family for their role in her Rotary activities, describing their support and participation. She went on to thank her club, the Rotary Club of Barre and talked about working on projects together and of friendship, creativity and good works. Her final words outlined three themes that we will hear from her this year: WHAT IF…..imagine; the personal transformational power of Rotary; and focusing on a social media campaign which details the benefits of Rotary.
